Spanish artist Paco Dalmau’s Evolution series explores the interplay of colour and perception of depth to produce abstract, expressive works. This process gives rise to organic shapes in paintings that are simply born by themselves; the artist’s action becomes almost invisible. Each painting’s glazes, erosion of material, and chromatic blurring incorporate a distance between layers and values, evoking a sense of depth, mysticism, and spirituality. Dalmau’s Evolution series proposes a journey that invites the viewer to explore their personal sensations, stimulated by the intimacy of colour, form and visual texture.
