‘Dancing with Ghosts’

After years of working in collaborative projects, my individual work has shifted to the background. This distance gave me the opportunity to see my own works in a new light. This exhibition re-uses re-defines and re-interprets parts or leftovers from previous site-specific works and installations. A retro-spective exhibition with new works made from old works.
In my work, I explore hidden qualities of materials, objects, and everyday actions. I am interested in the ordinary and unique yet unrecognised materials that surround us daily. Ignoring forms of narration or thematic approaches, material encounters drive my practice. The materials used are not generally considered aesthetic or important. I want to find ways to make them come into their own. To see how they can be themselves and what they can perform. The final artworks are often neither under construction nor complete.
