Karin Trenkel, Onno van der Wolf, ‘Guston and the Wolf’

Opening, Friday 20 August, 17.00–19.00

Day and night
From 20 August to 30 September 2021
Arendsweg and Talingstraat, Rotterdam

Karin Trenkel and Onno van der Wolf have developed work especially for Foundation B.a.d.’s 18 window displays. They take up the challenge by playing with each of these spaces in a different way.

Karin Trenkel three-dimensionally translates paintings by American-Canadian painter Philip Guston. Instead of paint, she has used papier-mâché. The choice of paintings is partly based on Onno van der Wolf’s installations.

Onno van der Wolf’s work responds to the world of false sentiment with a deceptive promise of security. Here, social intercourse – as the social imitation of a mental defect – takes place in a setting of crushing banality.
