Ties Ten Bosch @ Conflux Festival New York

From September 9-14 Ties Ten Bosch will have his project NYPD (New York Public Domain) as a part of the Conflux Festival NY. During this period Ties will set up his research center at the Center for Architecture, that hosts the festival.

Due to all kind of changes in society, the public domain is under a lot of stress. There is almost no room for 'play' anymore and social interaction in the streets is vanishing. One of the main reasons is the fact that commerce is taking over. You can't go into city centers without being blown away by commercial messages. This blinds people and makes them ignorant towards the things that matter in public space: room to express yourself. During his research, Ties will try to find and label this room...
